Hi there! I’m Francesca, but you can call me Wendy. If there is one thing you need to know about me is that I have no clue how to talk about myself.
I could tell you how Wendy became my nickname after several moments in my life linked me to the story of Peter Pan and made me totally obsessed with it: from when I was three years old watching Hook, my favourite movie, and I shouted at the screen “Peter Pan is my dad!” with my little heart filled with joy and pride, to when in my teen years I realised Wendy is the girl who loves books and stories, adventures and grand gestures, but is also the girl who likes to have everything under control and prioritize herself and her family when it comes to life decisions. So she grows up, but she also leaves her window open for every spring cleaning. This blog is kind of like my open window, where I let all my dreams and passions flow and I let them lead me to my own personal Neverland, where my mind and heart can run free.
We’ll leave the story behind the surname, Noh, for another day. Maybe I’ll tell you about it next October 6th.
I have a full time job and I only do 1/10 of all the things I dream of doing, but this doesn’t stop me from dreaming 24/7. I am a big passionate of literature, photography and arts in general. I was the kid that hated every kind of vegetable and only ate a considerate amount of cheese (and potatoes, if you ask my aunt!), now I eat vegetables every single day, I have cut meat from my nutrition and am trying to cut fish as well, while I still manage to dislike lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers and all those “basic” vegetables you normally eat in a salad. Oh, and I still eat a considerate amount of cheese (and potatoes).
I started travelling at a very young age when my parents put me in the back of their car – a black BMW that I absolutely loved even though I don’t even have a driving license now and know nothing about cars – at 3am and drove 8 hours to Val Di Fassa, the dreamiest place in Italy if you ask me. They did this every summer for about ten years, and I still have some of my best memories up there in the mountains. When I was only 9 years old, I asked them to buy me my first camera so I could stop stealing theirs, and when I was 11 I took my first flight to Moscow. There, I met people from all over the world and discovered what it means to live in a planet that’s so big you’ll never get to know it fully. And I had a hard time adjusting to their food, because as I mentioned earlier I was a very fussy kid, but this is another story. My crave for travelling has never faded and while my passion for discovery gets bigger and bigger, I feel like my knowledge of the world gets equally smaller, this is why I try and visit at least one new place a year and still sometimes all I dream about is to get in a black BMW and drive all the way to Northern Italy with my family, even though we now live in England.
Here’s some VERY random facts about me:
- I am obsessed with white, almost to the point of being OCD
- I don’t know how to dance
- I could (and often do) eat an avocado a day, even better if in a cute coffeeshop
- I love home décor and need to revolutionise my room a couple times a year at least
- I have favourite words, not for their meaning but purely their look
- I hate going out most of the times, unless it is for a concert or a holiday
- Last random fact I have just realised: when I start talking, I don’t know how to stop.
